TWO missionaries!!
This is a big month for the Hales Family. We are sending TWO missionar
ies to the field. Hermana Mallory Hales, (Joe and Janet's oldest), is entering the MTC February 24 on her way to the California Los Angeles Mission--Spanish speaking. Hermana Alison Tingey, (Jill and Craig's oldest daugher), is entering the MTC February 17 on her way to the Argentina Bahia Blanca Mission. We are planning a "stop by and say farewell" on Sunday from 5-8 at our house. We hope family and friends will stop by. We are so proud of these delightful young women who have been planning on missions their whole lives and now are able to fulfill their dream. We love you!
Ben, Jill and Craig's oldest, is putting his missionary Spanish to work as a State Department
Intern in Tegucigalpa, Honduras this semester. However, his really big news is his engagement to Jackie Bartell of Long Beach, CA. Both have been teachers at the MTC. They are planning to be married May 1 in the Salt Lake Temple. Jackie graduates from BYU in August and Ben next year. We are so proud of them! As you can see she fits into our family perfectly!

New resolution: I will use this blog more often!!
Today begins the summer and we can't wait for all the wonderful company that is coming our way. This week Ali comes from the Ukraine. Next week Chris and family and Jill and Elizabeth come. This is just the beginning of a great time.
Today had PT and his therapist taught him how to get up off the floor today--wish we had known how before. You get up on your knees and then crawl to a chair or something to help you get up Dah!! Wish I had thought of that before. She is so pleased with his improvement in posture and how much straighter he stands. You will all be surprised when you see him.

DC Grands come for a visit
What a fun week we have had with Holly and boys and Mary and boys, and later Steve and Greg. They came for graduation and this week, Greg came for the funeral of a dear friend, Rich Lloyd who passed away with a brain tumor. It has been a bit somber here as a result, but we still have had lots of fun. Mary's folks spent some time with us along with her brother Brigham and his wife Caitlin. Dorothy DeVore had dinner with us yesterday. Joe spent the evening last night--Janet is still ill with the flu. We had dinner with Jill's family in Park City and then went to Elizabeth's lacrosse game the next night. The big event for the kids was a trip to Kangaroo Zoo. It was a great time for Nikolai, Brigham and Thomas. It has full of the big blowup rides, slides etc. We are so sad to have everyone leave us today--it has been such a wonderful visit.
